Web Site Owners

If you are a Web site owner then you must be concerned about fraudulent access to your customers' online accounts.

Once a fraud perpetrator ascertains an account's user name and password online access to the account can be immediate. The fraud perpetrator can then buy products or services, transfer funds to another account or write one or more counterfeit checks against the account. The losses from any of these fraudulent transactions can be substantial.

Many organizations now require two-factor authentication for account access or funds transfer, because they believe that the additional level of authentication will reduce fraud associated with illegal account access - see Ethent Notes: "Two-Factor Authentication" for a brief discussion.

See Interactive Demonstrations: "Two-Factor Authentication" for a hands-on presentation of a two-factor authentication system and visit 2FThent for Ethent product information.
