Counterfeit Tickets
The substantial increases in the production and sale of counterfeit tickets are being driven by inexpensive technology: the printing technology used to produce counterfeit tickets and the technolgy used to sell the counterfeit tickets - online auctions and other web-based sales methods.
It seems that every week there is a new report about hundreds of counterfeit tickets being presented at a sports event or concert. If the counterfet tickets are discovered at the gate most counterfeit ticket holders, who thought they purchased legitimate tickets, become very angry at everybody including the sponsor of the event. Everybody, except the counterfeiter, loses.
Ethent has a solution - provide and then produce each ticket with an unpredictable number (UNumber) and then potential ticket purchasers can use a ticket's UNumber to authenticate ticket information before they purchase tickets.
